Ingredients
1/4 Cup Milk
1 Egg
2 Tblsp Brown Sugar
1/2 Tsp Vanilla Essence
1 -2 Tsp Condensed Milk (your preference)
Bread of choice
Butter, for frying
Method
1. To a mixing bowl, whisk the egg then add in the milk, sugar, vanilla essence and condensed milk. Whisk again to combine.
2. If using two slices of bread, add your favourite spread in the middle ( I used strawberry jam, but the options are endless: caramel, butter, condensed milk, Nutella etc).
3. Dunk the bread into the milk mix until it's well absorbed.
4. Fry in butter on a low-medium heated pan until crispy. Feel free to sprinkle brown sugar on top while frying for extra crisp.
Serving suggestions: top with yoghurt/cream and fruit such as banana, strawberries or blueberries.
I used a seeded bread with strawberry jam spread. It was sweet and filling, but nothing compares to the OG white bread, croissant or brioche!
